Ever since I moved into my new apartment I’ve been wanting to put up a gallery wall of great printables, and a little while ago I finally decided to do it. It just so happens that my favourite colours are also my brand colours, so I decided to print off some great quotes, my brand board and mood board, and hang them all up together.
The quotes I designed are: “Home is where the wifi is” which I just think this is super funny. “Do what you love” & “Love what you do.” because I’ve always loved the coordination of these two prints. Chapters sells two like this in opposing colours that I’ve always lusted after, but couldn’t justify the price tag. And “Passion never fails.” because I love the simplicity of this quote.
If you’re interested in finding the others, here they are as well: “Calm the Fuck Down”& “Make Your Dreams Happen” by CoCorrina which you can find here and here. I didn’t actually realize these were by the same artist until just now! Love these quotes and the way they’re designed. “If not now then when” which you can find here. This quote and design is everywhere (even on the side of building along my bus route) so I really have no idea what the original is. But I used this one and just gave it a blueish overlay to match!
“If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it.”
You can find this quote here, though again I don’t know what is the original since this quote is everywhere. I think this quote is my favourite of them all. I first saw it a few years ago when I was contemplating whether design and blogging were actually worthwhile endeavours. I saw this quote one day and it changed my life. It sounds so trivial, but this quote was what made me stop, think, and then realize that if I loved these things enough I had no choice but to pursue them. Here I am years later loving what I do, and I don’t know if I would be if I hadn’t seen this quote. I kind of want to get it tattooed on my body somewhere? Not in this font though.
While I did end up finding some gorgeous quotes from other artists out there, I also had a few quotes in mind that I couldn’t find in quite the perfect design. So, after much searching, I realized I could just whip them up myself. (I’m a designer I know, why didn’t I think of that from the beginning? Who knows). Anyways, I designed some images, and then stuck them all into one PDF and got them printed at Staples for just $7. Now they’re all hanging up and looking gorgeous. Though I can’t give you all the designs for free, I can give you the ones I designed!
